Public Relations Account Executive

Role Summary
Collaborates with senior public relations team members to execute objectives and strategies outlined in the client’s PR Plan. This role is focused on media relations services and supports client relations and administrative duties where needed. Under supervision of their manager, the Account Executive will be responsible for managing 1-2 small accounts or projects including pro-bono work.

Responsibilities
Media Relations

Identifies and secures an array of media placement for clients

Develops and maintains relationships with all media outlets including trades, broadcast and national media

Supports as a media pitcher across the team’s accounts

Assists in the development of portions of strategic PR plans and campaign development

Monitors, identifies and secures appropriate editorial calendar opportunities for clients

Administrative Support

Supports Account Coordinator and interns with reviewing and/or developing media analysis reports and distributing client media mentions

Supports Account Coordinator with maintaining call notes, agendas, project trackers and client update communications

Assists internal team members with other clients, business development and Company projects

Client Service

Functions as a general point of contact (for clients and internally)

Participates in new client onboarding including developing agendas for discovery meetings meetings/calls

Writing

Develops unique story angles and timely pitches to generate consistent client exposure

Drafts press releases, award nominations, social media posts and other client related materials

Acts as a steward of the JConnelly brand, consistently representing and reflecting the Company’s core values, approach and high standards of excellence in all clients, media and public interactions

Performs other duties as assigned

Education
College degree; or equivalent related business experience

Experience & Expertise

Minimum 1-2 years successful industry-related experience

Demonstrated ability to organize/prioritize work, handle details accurately, follow up with minimum supervision, and complete tasks within specified deadlines

Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving and customer service skills

Proficiency with various software applications including the full Office suite, as well as social media channels

Experience in PR related software including but not limited to Cision, Meltwater, Sprout, Hootsuite etc.
