Leidos – Senior Signals Software Engineer
Leidos is seeking a Senior Signals Software Engineer for its Intel Sectors, Cyber & Analytics Business Area (CABA) to support security engineering, computer network operations, mission software, analytics, signals intelligence, and cryptographic key management.
Position Highlights

Primary Responsibilities
- Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance specifications.
- Design, develop, and enhance software to add new features or improve existing functionality.
- Debug and resolve defects in software systems.
- Utilize signal processing techniques and digital modulation methods effectively.
- Develop software using C++ and Java within Linux operating systems.
- Integrate software into new or modified systems, ensuring seamless operation.
- Lead or participate in development and execution of test procedures for software components.
- Write and review software and system documentation, providing recommendations to improve processes and standards.
- Apply scientific analysis and mathematical models to design software solutions and predict outcomes.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline (or equivalent experience). Minimum 15 years of experience; or 7 years of SSWE or equivalent experience if no bachelor’s.
- Seven years of experience as a SSWE or equivalent on a project focusing on RF, including Fourier transforms, filtering, communications theory, digital modulation, error‑control coding, and signal‑analysis tools (e.g., WVT, DVT) as well as DSP (e.g., adaptive beamforming, demodulation).
- Clearance Requirement: Active TS/SCI with polygraph.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with software‑defined radio architectures (e.g., SCA, REDHAWK, GNU) and commercial wireless standards.
- Proficiency in software configuration management tools (e.g., GIT, Trac, Subversion).
- Familiarity with Python, Eclipse IDE, Google Protocol Buffer, MATLAB or SIMULINK.
- Knowledge of service‑oriented architecture, Kubernetes, Docker, cloud deployment (e.g., AWS).
- Expertise in front‑end technologies: JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and libraries such as React, Vue or Angular.
- Experience with REST APIs, WebSockets, and JavaScript 3D libraries.
- Background in Agile development teams and geolocation techniques.
