Communications And Engagement Specialist: Family Relations & Community Partnerships
The Communications and Engagement Specialist: Family Relations & Community Partnerships leads the development and implementation of divisionwide family engagement systems and community-based partnerships to strengthen relationships between WJCC Schools and its families and broader community.
The Specialist designs and manages family engagement programs, alumni relations efforts, and partnerships with community, faith-based, and government organizations, and supports meaningful opportunities for stakeholder voice, participation, and connection. The position plays a key role in advancing the Division's goals for inclusive engagement, community trust, and long-term relationship building.
Duties and Responsibilities
Creates, implements, evaluates, and improves effective family engagement programs and structures, to include family workshops, Family Academies, and school-based engagement initiatives in collaboration with school staff.
Supports and strengthens divisionwide family engagement practices through training and support provided to school-based Family & Community Engagement (FACE) Liaisons.
Extends outreach efforts to broaden WJCC Schools' community event presence with targeted organizations and/or stakeholder groups.
Develops and maintains partnerships with community-based organizations, including nonprofit agencies, faith-based organizations, and local government partners (e.g., parks and recreation, libraries), to support student and family engagement.
Collaborates with partners to co-design and deliver programs, workshops, and resources that support student success and family well-being.
Supports successful growth of the WJCC Schools volunteer program.
Leads the development and coordination of divisionwide alumni engagement efforts, including alumni outreach, recognition, and involvement opportunities.
Collaborates to support alumni storytelling initiatives and promote alumni contributions to the school community.
Supports Division and team initiatives, including the Teacher Supply Shop.
Establishes metrics and monitors data to measure the effectiveness and growth of family engagement, community partnerships, and outreach efforts to inform continuous improvement.

Evening and/or weekend work may be required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Required)
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Affairs, Public Relations, or related field.
Communications, public affairs, public relations or related experience, including community engagement and/or outreach.
Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to engage in small or large group settings, facilitate meetings and/or present information, and successfully engage with diverse audiences.
Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and effectively, independently, in a team environment, and with various stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, multi-task in a fast-paced environment, deliver long-term projects, and meet tight deadlines.
Proficiency in the use of technology.
Bilingual communication skills and abilities preferred.

This position has no supervisory responsibility.
Supervision Received
Performs duties under the supervision of the Chief Communications Officer.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Highly diverse and complex duties. Must have high tolerance for change and the ability to work on several projects and assignments concurrently. Strong interpersonal skills required in working with diverse groups. Must have initiative and assume responsibility for working productively with minimal supervision. Must have the ability to sit for extended periods of time in a busy office environment; exhibit manual dexterity to enter data into a computer terminal; to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; physical agility to lift up to 25 pounds.
