Content Platforms & Operations is responsible for the development and ongoing advancement of the technical and operational functions driving the worldwide distribution and monetization of Disney’s linear networks and theatrical content. This includes Disney’s media supply chain and storage, network and theatrical distribution operations, media localization, network transmission and origination, and more. The global team also plays a critical role as the primary collaboration point for Product & Technology with Disney’s EMEA, APAC, and LATAM regional business teams. We are the

Role Overview:
The Content Platforms’ Rights Management Team is looking for a Product Manager to support day-to-day activities of the Product Lifecycle. This role will define and launch products supporting the distribution of Disney content, including Direct-to-Consumer (Disney+, Hulu, etc.), Content Sales, Transactional, Syndication, and Airlines. Rights Management defines and manages rights for media content, ensuring legal compliance, protecting IP, and enabling content monetization. Our primary Rights Management product is Rightsline; experience with this SaaS is preferred. Key capabilities include rights clearances, distribution rights-in, exclusivity and holdbacks, carves, distribution rights-out, reporting, and conflict checks.
Responsibilities
Articulate product strategy and gain alignment from business stakeholders and cross-functional technical teams
Create product roadmaps linking vision, strategy, objectives, and execution
Provide end-to-end product management for a specific product or platform within the Rights Management domain
Collaborate with partners to evaluate value propositions and propose alternatives aligned with overall strategy
Identify and define business requirements with cross-functional teams
Assist in process alignment and standardization
Deliver solutions with engineering and program managers aligned to Content Platforms' strategy
Optimize product features and business processes with cross-functional teams
Product Execution & Delivery
Manage maintenance and prioritization of the product backlog with transparent prioritization
Develop and verify solutions for issues, including complex problems
Refine solutions into a practical minimum viable product for top priorities
Coordinate major product releases
Participate in daily scrums, planning, reviews, and retrospectives
Product Analysis & Decision-Making
Make thoughtful, well-documented assumptions
Own cost/benefit analysis and lean business cases
Define realistic product targets / KPIs / OKRs
Document information with user journey maps, flows, and information architecture
User Focus & Experience
Exhibit natural and intuitive user empathy
Seek to improve user experience and streamline operations
Own system processes, user guides, and training materials for product features as needed
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
5+ years of product management experience, preferably in digital media supply chain
Strong product understanding and platform familiarity
Experience in product management for content rights and availability
Knowledge of first/third party and acquired content workflows for direct-to-consumer streaming
Self-starter and able to work independently under time constraints
Strong presentation and communication skills
Strong technical writing skills
Ability to derive actionable insights through user research
Ability to craft and validate problems
Experience with experimentation execution and analysis
Ability to define product roadmaps
Understanding of cost/benefit analysis and business modeling
Ability to write and prioritize user stories
Adaptable to shifting business strategy and priorities
Experience leading or facilitating business workshops
Understanding of development processes, methodologies, and tools
Ability to mentor junior team members
Experience applying data science and analytics to product solutions
Preferred Qualifications
MBA or Master’s in a related technical field
Experience with Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Airtable, Confluence)
Experience in financial/accounting within content exploitation
Strong understanding of financial systems and controls
Experience with AI/ML to automate processes and monetize opportunities
Familiarity with Rightsline and Workato
Knowledge of Media & Entertainment industry
Interest in Disney brands
Understanding of media production and digital video workflows
#DISNEYTECH
The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $141,900 to $190,300 per year. The base pay offered will reflect internal equity and may vary by geographic region and candidate experience. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided in addition to benefits.
