SUMMARY

 

Crescent Events Production is looking for an Audio Technician who is passionate about delivering exceptional audio experiences for live events. This role combines technical expertise, event production support, and hands-on teamwork to help bring events to life.

 

The Audio Technician is responsible for supporting the planning, setup, operation, and breakdown of professional audio and audiovisual systems for live events. This position works closely with project managers, clients, venues, and production teams to ensure every event runs smoothly and sounds incredible.

 

NOTE: This position is subject to an extensive background check.

 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

• Professionally represent Crescent Event Productions (CEP) at all times
• Set up, operate, and break down professional audio systems for live events
• Operate both digital and analog audio consoles
• Configure and manage Dante audio networks
• Operate RF microphone systems including Shure and Sennheiser equipment
• Operate wireless communication systems such as Clear-Com and Telex
• Manage complex audio routing and signal flow
• Monitor sound quality and adjust audio levels during live productions
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during live events
• Assign duties and review work for quality, accuracy, and policy compliance
• Operate company trucks and vans safely and professionally
• Pull, stage, load, and secure equipment for events
• Receive, inspect, and quality-check equipment returning from events
• Maintain inventory accuracy in IntelliEvent rental software
• Maintain organization of warehouse, storage, and office spaces
• Provide general operational and office support as needed
• Perform additional duties as assigned

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

 

Successful candidates demonstrate strong technical proficiency, sound judgment, professionalism, and the ability to perform under pressure. This role requires adaptability, effective communication, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.

 

Required:

  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record

Preferred:

  • OSHA safety training
  • AVIXA CTS certification
  • Audio Technician certification

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Associate’s degree or technical certification in Audio Technician, Live Event Production, Media Technology, or related field, OR
  • Equivalent combination of education, technical training, and relevant work experience.

 

Typical experience requirements:

1–3 years of experience in:

  • Live event production
  • Audio Technician
  • AV or technical production environments

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, or climb during event setup and breakdown
  • Use hands to operate equipment and tools
  • Lift and move equipment as follows:

Regularly lift up to 25 pounds
Frequently lift up to 50 pounds
Occasionally lift up to 100 pounds with assistance

Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.

 

COMPUTER SKILLS

 

Proficiency with Internet-based systems, audiovisual inventory software, scheduling tools, spreadsheets, and word processing software.
