Job Summary
The SCM Specialist is responsible for purchasing materials required for the timely manufacture of transformers, as well as working with the Senior SCM Specialist to secure favorable vendor terms, prices and schedules for delivery using knowledge of budget and schedule requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Review BOM from Engineering and MRP requirements.
Review planned orders to ensure purchase orders are created prior to commitment and approval, transmitting approved purchase orders with appropriate supporting documents or drawings to suppliers.
Track supplier acknowledgment to confirm that system lead time, delivery date, and cost align with expectations.
Monitor delivery status and communicate any shortages or backlogs to internal stakeholders to ensure visibility and address potential interruptions.
Review and update PO promise dates from suppliers, follow up on shipment schedules daily, manage changes to PO timelines, and promptly respond to MRP exception messages.
Monitor and take action regarding the creation of POs and RFQs.
Achieve best cost for material with outstanding quality and within internal need-by dates.
Own procurement of specialized commodities and fulfill KPIs including On-Time PO Placement, On-Time Delivery (OTD), supplier promise date accuracy, adherence to supplier contracts and pricing, invoice resolution, and related metrics.
Partner with the Senior Supply Chain Management Specialist and Quality department to negotiate vendor recovery associated with liquidated damages (LDs) due to delivery and quality issues.
Collaborate with the Engineering department and coordinate with suppliers to implement design changes.
Develop knowledge of supplier manufacturing processes and material and commodity pricing.
Act as a first line of contact and establish strategic relationships with suppliers.
Coordinate supplier visits.
Verify that NetSuite system data accurately reflects on‑hand inventory levels by reconciling physical stock with system records.
Collaborate closely with Manufacturing departments to coordinate daily material and supply needs, including operating materials and shop supplies.
Work closely with and assist the Warehouse with any questions or issues.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related.
Preferred
ASCM Certification.
At least two years of purchasing experience.
