The Senior Account Manager serves as a strategic client partner and internal leader, owning 4–5 client accounts while mentoring junior team members and driving high‑quality execution across strategy, delivery, and project management. This role blends client relationship management, integrated marketing strategy, and day‑to‑day account leadership to ensure work is on‑brief, on‑time, and delivering results.
The ideal candidate is confident presenting to clients, proactive in problem‑solving, and trusted internally as a steady leader who elevates both the work and the people around them.
Key Responsibilities
Client Leadership & Strategy
- Own primary client relationships for 4–5 active accounts, serving as a strategic advisor and day‑to‑day contact
- Lead client planning discussions, presentations, and quarterly business reviews
- Translate client goals into actionable strategies and clear briefs for internal teams
- Anticipate client needs, proactively identify opportunities, and manage expectations effectively
Account & Business Management
- Oversee scopes of work, timelines, budgets, and resourcing across assigned accounts
- Partner with leadership on account growth, renewals, and incremental opportunities
- Ensure financial health of accounts, including burn rates, forecasting, and change management
- Maintain high client satisfaction, retention, and long‑term partnerships
Project Management & Execution
- Guide cross‑functional teams (creative, digital, media, production, external partners) to deliver work efficiently
- Ensure clarity of roles, deadlines, and deliverables across all projects
- Monitor quality control, ensuring work aligns with strategy, brand standards, and client goals
- Remove roadblocks and keep projects moving from kickoff through delivery
Team Mentorship & Leadership
- Mentor and support Account Managers and Coordinators through coaching, feedback, and development
- Review briefs, client communications, and project plans to elevate account standards
- Act as a role model for agency best practices, collaboration, and professionalism
- Support onboarding and training of new team members
Qualifications & Experience
- 6+ years of experience in an agency account management role
- Proven experience managing multiple client accounts simultaneously
- Strong background in integrated marketing, digital, branding, or advertising programs
- Excellent client‑facing communication and presentation skills
- Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle priorities and deadlines
- Experience mentoring or guiding junior account team member
