Role Description
This is a full‑time, on‑site position located in Harrisonville, MO for a Buyer – Softlines (Footwear) at Family Center Farm & Home. The Buyer will oversee sourcing, purchasing, and managing inventory for the Softlines Footwear department. Responsibilities include vendor negotiations, maintaining optimal stock levels, analyzing sales trends, and ensuring product assortment aligns with customer preferences and market trends. The Buyer will collaborate with store teams to enhance product visibility and will be instrumental in delivering a high‑quality experience for both customers and team members.

Qualifications

Experience in inventory management, purchasing, and vendor negotiations

Knowledge of product categories in the softlines and footwear industry

Proficiency in data analysis, sales forecasting, and trend analysis

Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with vendors and team members

Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment

Familiarity with retail operations and customer service principles

Proficiency in retail management software and Microsoft Office Suite

Previous experience in retail buying or merchandising is preferred

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail Management, or a related field is preferred
