SUMMARY:

VSE Aviation is actively seeking a team-oriented Business Development and Strategy professional with substantial experience in the Commercial MRO sector. The ideal candidate will play a lead role in contributing to the growth of Aviation MRO segment. This position will provide support and be responsive to the needs and efforts of the leadership team at VSE Aviation

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Lead, develop, and execute the key account growth strategy in coordination with VSE's core capabilities and Business Unit leadership
Create and execute a sales campaign plan in support of our vision and goals
Lead the identification of new business opportunities that support the account plan, establish Business Area growth goals, identify and submit targets, throughout the opportunity life cycle
Manage the development, maintenance, and update the pipeline in new areas of opportunity for the Business Area
Maintain and grow a customer-focused and targeted pipeline of $2+B
Coordinate projects and action plans to collect information about opportunities; in collaboration with technical staff, propose and test potential solutions; and qualify opportunities
Organize and execute presentations of areas of opportunity and pipeline reviews
Develop broad customer and partner relationships and regular travel to customer sites.
Regularly interface with customers to develop more informed knowledge of market activity
Coordinate with Product line and Inside Sales/Customer Support on Proposal/Bid strategies
Support all aspects of proposal planning, preparation, and submittal efforts
Prepare and report on customer meetings and engagements
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in business, Aviation Management, Engineering, Marketing, or related field
5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or commercial roles within aviation MRO, aerospace services, or aftermarket support
Demonstrated success generating revenue through MRO service sales, component repair, heavy maintenance, or modification programs
Working knowledge of aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) operations, including turnaround time, labor, and material drivers
Experience developing and managing customer relationships with airlines, operators, lessors, or OEMs
Ability to independently identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities
Strong negotiation skills and experience supporting or leading contract and pricing discussions
Solid understanding of cost structures, margins, and ROI in an MRO environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with CRM tools, pipeline management, and sales forecasting
Willingness and ability to travel as required up to 50 %.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

MBA or advanced degree
8+ years of experience specifically in commercial aviation MRO or a highly specialized aftermarket segment
Direct experience with airline fleet planning, maintenance programs, PBH agreements, or long-term service agreements
Familiarity with FAA, EASA, and other regulatory requirements impacting maintenance and repair services
Experience supporting RFP/RFQ responses and complex bid processes
Existing relationships with key aviation customers, lessors, or industry partners
Experience selling services for widebody aircraft, engines, avionics, or component repair
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required to work effectively with the US team, suppliers, customers, and corporate parent staff.
Strategic Thinking and Decisive Judgment: Capable of strategic analysis to determine optimal decisions
Must promote collaboration and facilitate teamwork across the organization and its external service providers. Must be tactful, diplomatic, and work with integrity, honesty, and respect for others.
Must display exceptional listening and analytical skills to understand customer concerns and needs, with the ability to respond promptly and effectively to those needs.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required to work effectively with the US team, suppliers, customers, and corporate parent staff.
High level of self-motivation and standards with the ability to multitask; balancing "analysis" with "doing". Must be adaptable and able to prioritize and work under pressure to meet deadlines. Work on own initiative.
