Senior SEO Strategist (Hands-On) – Onsite | Irvine, CA

We’re hiring a

Senior SEO Strategist

to step into a high-impact, hands-on role supporting a large, multi-site organization in the education and healthcare space.

This is not a reporting role. You will be embedded with web and content teams, owning execution across technical SEO, content, and site optimization initiatives.

Role Overview
You will play a key role in shaping how the organization shows up in modern search, including AI-driven results. This includes optimizing high-value program pages, implementing schema at scale, and supporting a major CMS migration.

Key Responsibilities
Optimize and rebuild program pages with strong SEO structure, content, and internal linking
Implement and scale schema across templated pages
Write and refine SEO content (no dedicated copywriters)
Support a WordPress to Drupal migration, ensuring SEO preservation
Partner with web and development teams on technical SEO initiatives
Reconcile and operationalize direction from multiple SEO agencies
Measure performance and deliver clear, actionable insights

Top 3 Technical Skillsets
Schema + Technical SEO:

Hands-on experience implementing structured data at scale across templated pages
Content + On-Page SEO:

Ability to write and structure SEO content aligned to search intent and AI visibility
CMS + Migration Experience:

WordPress and/or Drupal experience, including SEO support during migrations

Qualifications
5+ years of SEO experience in complex, large-scale environments
Experience working in regulated or structured industries (healthcare, financial services, automotive, eCommerce, or similar)
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into action
Experience working cross-functionally with developers, content teams, and agencies

Location: Irvine, CA (5 days onsite)
Duration: 3-month contract with potential to extend
Hours: 40 hours per week
