We are seeking an experienced Director of Sales to lead and manage our grocery-focused meat and poultry sales team. This individual will be hands-on, on-site five days per week, and responsible for driving revenue growth through team leadership, customer strategy, and consultative selling execution.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead, manage, and coach the sales team to achieve and exceed revenue and growth targets while maintaining a strong on-site presence five days per week.
Establish sales goals, performance metrics, and accountability standards, and provide ongoing coaching through ride-alongs, call reviews, and regular performance feedback.
Oversee the growth and retention of existing grocery accounts and partner with Sales Representatives on key accounts and strategic opportunities.
Drive new customer acquisition and expansion to support continued business growth.
Ensure the team maintains strong knowledge of meat and poultry products, including cut, yield, and pricing.
Provide competitive and market analysis to inform sales strategy, pricing, and product mix decisions.
Collaborate closely with Customer Service, Operations, and leadership to ensure alignment and execution across departments.
Resolve escalated customer issues and support long-term relationship management.
Participate in client meetings both on-site and in the field as needed.
Lead by example with professionalism, accountability, and a consultative sales approach.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or GED required; additional education a plus.
5+ years of sales experience selling perishable items to grocery stores.
Prior experience selling meat and poultry strongly preferred, with a solid understanding of cut, yield, and pricing.
2+ years of sales management or leadership experience.
Proven ability to coach consultative sales teams (order-taking mindset will not be successful).
Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
Detail-oriented, organized, and highly reliable.
Ability to work with clients both in person and over the phone.
