skilled, adaptable, and highly motivated Freestanding Emergency Department (FSED) Registered Nurse (RN)

to join a high-performing emergency care team in

Tallahassee, Florida . This unique and challenging role is ideal for an experienced Emergency Room nurse who excels in fast-paced, autonomous care environments where critical thinking, advanced clinical expertise, and rapid decision-making are essential.

As an FSED RN, you will serve on the frontlines of emergency care in a satellite facility separate from the main hospital, handling a full spectrum of medical emergencies-from minor injuries to life-threatening conditions. Working with minimal on-site supervision, you must be confident in your clinical judgment, capable of initiating life-saving interventions, and prepared to manage multiple high-acuity cases simultaneously. Your responsibilities will include triaging incoming patients, stabilizing those with critical needs, delivering evidence-based treatments, and collaborating closely with off-site physicians and remote care teams to ensure continuity of care.

In addition to delivering expert clinical care, you will be a key contributor to patient education, safety protocols, and efficient departmental operations. You will also help foster a supportive and responsive environment that reflects compassion, professionalism, and a commitment to exceptional outcomes.

Job specification

Triage, assess, and treat patients of all ages in a timely and efficient manner.
Identify expected outcomes and develop personalized care plans based on patient assessments.
Continuously prioritize care for multiple patients with varying levels of urgency.
Administer treatments, medications, and procedures as per physician orders and best practice standards.
Provide discharge instructions and make appropriate patient referrals.
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and support staff to deliver safe and effective patient-centered care.
Ensure compliance with clinical policies, safety protocols, and regulatory standards.
Candidate requirements

Associate Degree in Nursing or Registered Nurse Diploma required.
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Florida, or a multistate license with eligibility to obtain Florida licensure before starting.
BLS

- must be obtained before the employment start date.
ACLS

(or ACLS Instructor) - must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
PALS

(or PALS Instructor) - must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
Nonviolent Crisis Intervention

- must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
1 year of recent acute care ER RN experience

is required.
Strong critical thinking, multitasking, and communication skills.
