Job Overview
This Role Is Not For Everyone. It Might Be For You. You follow up before you’re asked. You notice what others miss and you don’t walk past it. You can hold a real conversation with anyone, not because you’re working the room, but because people genuinely feel heard when they talk to you. And you know how to close. You move things forward and you own your decisions.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will lead recruiting in support of the AbilityOne program, a federal initiative creating employment opportunities for individuals with significant disabilities. This is structured, compliance-driven, meaningful work that requires you to hold people, process, and documentation at the same time without dropping any of them.
Own the full recruiting cycle under AbilityOne and regulated frameworks
Manage candidate qualifications and compliance documentation with precision
Communicate proactively and move with urgency without being prompted
Partner with operations and compliance to ensure every placement is correct and ethical
You Are A Strong Fit If You:
Have experience in compliance-driven or disability-focused recruiting
Are known for follow-through, not just initiative
Make decisions with available information and adjust, you don’t stall
Take ownership without needing to be managed closely
Why This Work Matters
Every placement creates access to employment for someone who might not have had it otherwise. If that draws you in rather than slows you down, we want to hear from you.
Qualifications
Minimum 1-2 years of recruiting or HR experience in a compliance-driven, regulated, or social services environment
Demonstrated ability to manage detailed documentation and follow processes with precision
Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build rapport across all levels
Comfortable making independent decisions and managing competing priorities without constant direction
Proficiency in Paycom or a comparable HRIS system
Experience with Monday.com or similar project management tools
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications
Degree or certification in Human Resources, Social Work, Rehabilitation Services, Disability Studies, or a related field
Familiarity with the AbilityOne program, SourceAmerica, or disability employment frameworks
Experience recruiting or working directly with individuals with disabilities
Knowledge of FLSA, EEOC, and federal compliance standards related to hiring
What We Value Over a Resume
If you don’t check every box but you have a track record of doing hard things carefully, communicating without being asked, and finishing what you start, we still want to hear from you. Experience working alongside or in service of people with disabilities carries real weight here regardless of how you came by it.
