Nature and Variety of Work

This role involves dynamic managerial and administrative work across diverse services in the Domestic Violence and Human Trafficking Division, offering opportunities to impact community programs and policy.

Position Title

Division Manager, Community Services Manager (Grade G-31), Domestic Violence and Human Trafficking Division – Department of Family Services.

About the Position

This position involves highly responsible managerial and administrative work in support of the Director or other higher-level officials. The Community Services Manager will be primarily responsible for directing and managing the overall activities of the Domestic Violence and Human Trafficking Division, supervising, planning, coordinating, and appraising staff to achieve the division’s program goals, priorities, and performance metrics. The role also includes development and implementation of best practices, key strategies, and programming to enhance domestic violence programs.

Examples of Work

  • Assists in the coordination of services and programs for individuals impacted by domestic violence, human trafficking or sexual assault.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to identify service gaps and develop programs to meet community needs.
  • Advocates for victims of intimate partner violence, domestic violence, human trafficking and sexual assault.
  • Works with grant partners to create strong community collaborations with survivor‑specific service organizations.
  • Creates and implements an outreach strategy to better identify and engage trafficked persons, especially those who are homeless, undocumented, and otherwise vulnerable.
  • Conducts intake and service needs assessments with potential or identified survivors, providing comprehensive support services.
  • Participates in task force and programming meetings for domestic violence and human trafficking in Prince George’s County.
  • Establishes and maintains professional relationships with court personnel, law enforcement, county agencies, and community organizations.
  • Ensures timely completion of all reporting, budget documentation and collaborative requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in business or public administration or related field.
  • Five (5) years of related work experience with three (3) years in a managerial capacity.

Any equivalent combination of relevant training, education and experience may also be considered. There is no equivalency for the required supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven experience in domestic violence and human trafficking and community services.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent budget management and grant writing skills.
  • Effective communication and public speaking abilities.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with community organizations and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of personnel laws and union agreements.
  • Ability to plan, develop, and implement comprehensive domestic violence programs and services.
