Job Title: Apparel Designer/Fashion Designer
Location: New York, NY
Duration: 3 Months Contract
The Assistant Designer – Intimates supports the design and development of seasonal collections for

Aéropostale . This role partners closely with the Designer and cross-functional teams to deliver trend-driven, high-quality products aligned with brand vision and timelines. It’s ideal for a creative, detail-oriented professional looking to grow in a fast-paced apparel environment.

Key Responsibilities
Design & Creative Support

Research fashion trends, competitive brands, and market insights relevant to the target customer

Shop the market to stay updated on styles, colors, fabrics, and silhouettes

Create and maintain mood boards, inspiration boards, and seasonal trend research

Support the development of girls’ intimates collections

Create sketches and develop technical flats using

Adobe Illustrator

Prepare and maintain design decks, CAD presentations, and line sheets

Collaborate with CAD teams to develop prints and patterns

Manage technical design packages within PLM systems

Product Development & Execution

Participate in bi-weekly fit sessions

Assist in approvals (strike-offs, lab dips, etc.)

Partner with Merchandising and Product Development teams to meet quality and cost targets

Track deadlines aligned with the corporate calendar

Support day-to-day design operations and organization

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree preferred

1–2 years of experience in apparel design or a related field

Skills

Strong technical sketching and flat design skills

Proficiency in

Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD tools

Excellent organization and time management

Strong communication skills

Basic experience with AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, or Vizcom for design ideation
