Senior Technical Writer

The Multidisciplinary Integrated Systems department enables program execution quality and on-time-delivery by ensuring integrity, compliance, security and process efficiency of our technical data, designs and systems. MIS is part of Systems Engineering & Test Capabilities (SE & TC).
The team is seeking a Senior Technical Writer. Senior Technical Writer performs document checking of engineering work and helps create technical documents and specifications.
What You Will Do
Checking, editing, and coauthoring technical specifications and engineering control drawings for clarity, completeness, adherence to MIL standards, as well as business and program requirements.
Ensuring Statement of Work documents are accurate, complete, and support program contractual requirements.
Process release and change objects and complete check tasks for technical specification and control drawings within the Product Data Management system.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
Experience creating, editing, maintaining and/or checking technical specifications / documentation.
Experience in Microsoft Office Suite and/or Adobe Acrobat Pro.
Qualifications We Prefer
Word, Excel, and Visio preferred
A team player with a high level of initiative and the ability to work in an environment of rapidly changing priorities.
Experience and knowledge of Department of Defense Standard Practice "Defense and Program-Unique Specifications Format and Content", MIL-STD-961.
Experience with "Technical Data Packages", MIL-STD-31000
Experience with PTC Windchill or similar configuration management system.
Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
