ABC7 Los Angeles, located in one of the most dynamic, fast‑paced breaking news markets in the country, is looking for a Senior Executive Producer to lead strategy and execution across all our morning news platforms. This is a great opportunity for a proven Executive Producer who is now ready to take on the next challenge and the next step in their career. This position requires a leader with vision and command, who is passionate about morning coverage and is always looking for ways to better serve morning viewers seven days a week. We want a leader who can utilize our new state‑of‑the‑art set to innovate our morning news breaking, weather, traffic, and storytelling. We want someone who knows how to motivate and collaborate with a large team consisting of various degrees of experience. This position will have overall oversight of all our morning newscasts on linear and streaming. This Sr. EP will work closely with news and station management to establish strategy, resources and results. The ideal candidate has vast experience leading a news team in a major market and thrives in high‑pressure environments. You will be required to make fast, smart editorial decisions, while encouraging teams to execute at the highest levels of journalistic excellence. As a Senior EP, you will set the pace and standards for the entire newsroom each morning, owning everything from editorial direction to execution, while ensuring our product stands out, connects, and leads in the market. Knowledge of Southern California is a plus.

This role is considered on‑site, which means the employee will work from a Company designated location on an ongoing basis.

Responsibilities:

Drive strategy and execution across ALL morning platforms

Effectively execute breaking news throughout the morning

Work directly with assignment desk to proactively plan out morning coverage in advance and in the moment

Supervise entire morning linear and digital staff; which includes a weekend Executive Producer and weekday Sr. Producer

Serve as mentor and motivator

Possess the ability to jump in as needed including producing and commanding a live control room

Work with morning talent on development opportunities

Work directly with station leadership to evaluate results and opportunities

Work directly with research department to analyze ratings and data insights

Create a culture of collaboration and innovation

Basic Qualifications:

Minimum of 7 years experience in local television newsroom management

Demonstrated ability to work under deadline pressure in a fast‑paced, big market environment

Excellent writing skills

Excellent verbal and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of Dalet

Executive Producer experience in Top 10 Market

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $168,300 to $225,800 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long‑term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
