Job Summary
This position is part‑time and is a key member of our sports coverage team. The incumbent will shoot live sports, practices, collegiate signings, interviews, and write/edit on‑air treatments. Many of our shoots occur on nights and weekends.
Duties and Responsibilities
Receive assignments or evaluate leads
ews tips to develop story ideas.
Gather and verify factual information regarding stories through interviews, observation, and research.
Shoot video and still photographs for web, if required, to illustrate stories.
Write web stories.
Edit videos for all multimedia platforms.
Shoot live reports from the site of the event or a mobile broadcast unit.
Assist sports anchors in preparing the cast as needed.
Perform additional duties as required by management.
Qualifications and Requirements
BA degree in broadcasting or equivalent work experience.
Computer literacy, including the ENPS news system.
Knowledge of broadcast‑quality camera equipment.
Experience editing video on Final Cut Pro or similar systems.
Ability to meet various deadlines.
Strong broadcast and AP style writing skills.
Proficiency posting content to the station website, Facebook, and Twitter.
Self‑motivated and able to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
Valid Florida driver’s license and acceptable driving record. No phone calls.
