The Physics Department at the University of California, Berkeley is recruiting for three tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in the following areas.

Search Areas
Soft Condensed Matter : open to all sub‑fields of soft condensed matter, including non‑linear physics, nonequilibrium statistical physics, physics of learning and information, non‑biological and biological soft condensed matter physics. Applications from experimentalists and theorists are welcome.
Atomic Physics – Theory : includes quantum simulation, many‑body quantum mechanics, emergent phenomena and entangled systems, quantum information science, quantum optics, precision measurement, fundamental physics tests, ultracold molecules, chemistry, ultrafast optics, and others.
Open Search in Theoretical Physics : broad search with emphasis on theoretical particle physics, plasma theory and computation, and theoretical condensed matter physics.
Qualifications : PhD (or equivalent international degree) or currently enrolled in such a program at the time of application.
Deadline : All reference letters must be received by November 14, 2025.
