We are seeking an experienced senior marketing coordinator to join our 35-person structural engineering firm. This nonexempt position will report directly to our director of marketing and business development, and provide critical support to our business development principal. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AEC (Architecture/Engineering/Construction) marketing and be familiar with SMPS best practices.
Why this role is exciting
Be a visible driver of business growth: own proposal production, client outreach, and pursuit execution that directly influence wins.
Work closely with firm leadership and technical teams — your work will shape how clients see us.
Blend creative content work (case studies, thought leadership, social) with operations (CRM, analytics, events) for a varied, high-impact role.
Deepen your career in A/E marketing with clear ownership and room to grow.
What you will do
Lead end-to-end development and production of qualification packages, proposals, and presentations for pursuit opportunities, including research, scheduling, content coordination, editing, design, and final delivery.
Coordinate interview preparation, including presentation materials and leave-behinds.
Provide executive support to the BD principal, such as initiating and developing fee proposals, data gathering, and managing logistics.
Manage CRM data (project and client contacts, BD events calendar), ensuring accuracy and database integrity; upload project images and assets with keywords.
Develop and maintain marketing collateral, including project sheets, case studies, capability statements, statements of qualification, bios, presentations, and targeted client packages.
Write and edit client-facing content: technical and nontechnical content for proposals, website, newsletters, social media posts, and thought leadership tailored to technical audiences.
Manage and produce awards submissions content and posters; coordinate and/or license photography and other assets.
Create and manage website content updates, ensuring accuracy and freshness.
Ensure all materials adhere to brand guidelines and maintain high quality standards; maintain organized marketing asset library and template systems.
Plan, coordinate, and execute client meetings, special events, workshops, trade‑show participation, year‑end client gifts, and corporate branded materials; support SMPS chapter involvement.
Contribute to annual marketing and business development planning; monitor industry trends, competitive positioning, and support market research and target client identification.
