VDC Designer (Virtual Design & Construction Designer)

As a VDC Designer, you will play a critical role in transforming vision into proposed plans by producing accurate, coordinated construction documents that drive our projects from concept to completion.

This position supports business development, project managers, superintendents, and trade partners by developing, managing, and coordinating digital models and visualizations that support preconstruction, design coordination, and field execution. This role bridges design intent and construction reality by producing accurate 3D models and renderings to improve project planning, communication, and efficiency. The VDC Designer helps maintain the quality, efficiency, and accountability that defines our Construction Management's reputation in commercial construction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain 3D models using

Revit software
Generate 2D drawings and construction plans for commercial projects, including but not limited to permit set plans and 3D models
Coordinate drawings across trades (MEP, structural, civil) to avoid conflicts
Review and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
Ensure drawings comply with local building codes, zoning regulations, and ADA requirements
Maintain organized drawing files and documentation in company systems
Participate in project coordination meetings as needed
Other duties as assigned
Requirements

Advanced proficiency in Revit

Create and manage 3D models for commercial construction projects
Strong understanding of commercial construction methods and materials
Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings
Knowledge of building codes and permitting processes
Familiarity with MEP coordination is a plus
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Effective communication and collaboration skills
Problem-solving mindset
Organizational and time management skills
Education and Experience:

Associate's degree or certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Architecture, or related field preferred
Experience working with a commercial general contractor preferred
Work Environment:

This is a full-time position
Standard hours will fall within Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. with some flexibility depending on business needs.
The role is office-based with occasional site visits to new projects and active projects
