JOB DESCRIPTION
This position is set to begin in Fall 2026. Position will be hired after MavWorks is awarded (application opens July 15, 2026).

What You'll Do
As the Student Graphic Designer, you will:
Design digital and print assets for social media, email campaigns, web and event promotion
Support creation of marketing materials, including flyers, event signage, digital screens and branded merchandise
Provide creative input for campaigns and content strategy
Collaborate with marketing staff and student team members to ensure brand consistency across Foundation and ACS projects
Assist with event coverage and media support as needed (photography, digital updates, live graphics)
Make design edits and adjustments as requested to help projects move smoothly from draft to final delivery
Prepare files for both digital and print formats, ensuring production timelines are met
Assist with versioning across platforms (social, email, print)
Prepare files for print vendors and ensure brand standards are maintained
Contribute to maintaining a clean, consistent and professional CMU brand identity
Training
Student team members are considered an essential part of the Foundation and ACS. Training sessions at the beginning of the semester and periodic team meetings will be required.
Qualifications
Be a current undergraduate CMU student in good academic standing
Be pursuing a degree in graphic design or a related field
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign); Canva experience a plus
Strong eye for detail, typography, layout and color
Able to work independently, take initiative and solve problems
Reliable, punctual, organized and detail-oriented
Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects with deadlines
Professional behavior and business casual dress required
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
