This role is responsible for managing and executing digital design tasks in support of Marriott's Digital Communications products including key customer emails.

The Senior Designer will partner closely with fellow UX designers, copywriters, product management team members, and technology colleagues to ensure that design solutions are consistent, aligned to standards, high-quality, performant, and effective.

This position requires an ability to produce high-quality designs within the established workflow, to consistently meet committed critical campaign timelines, to provide guidance to internal and external designers to ensure alignment with brand and other standards, and to contribute fresh and innovative concepts in support of continual improvement.

A strong portfolio is critical. Yours should showcase general skill in UX/UI design, while highlighting any experience with transactional and/or marketing email design.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

5+ years of relevant experience in digital product design

4-year undergraduate degree, with bachelor's degree in relevant discipline, or equivalent work experience

Experience in user-centric design

Strong understanding of visual design principles

Proficient in general usability and transactional design best practices

Experience with major, large-scale global digital apps, websites, or other digital products

Proven experience delivering high quality digital design work from concepts through final deliverables

Familiarity with interpreting and applying branding and brand concepts

Have a strong understanding of email design best practices including familiarity with email client capabilities and limitations and responsive email design.

Have experience in digital production with a focus on creating and updating reusable templates.

Balance conversion techniques with an elevated user experience.

Are able to turn design concepts into clear visuals that follow brand guidelines.

Are able to proactively identify opportunities, develop creative concepts, and bring thoughtful email design solutions to life.

Are able to continuously iterate on designs based on feedback and usability testing to enhance user experience.

Demonstrate attention to detail across all aspects of UX design, ensuring consistency and accuracy in all deliverables.

Have a strong working knowledge of Figma, including building templates and contributing to design system components.

Are able to communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively with business stakeholders

Are able to clearly communicate design requirements to developers, outlining clear specs and guidelines to ensure designs are built accurately.

Proactively manage tasks and prioritize workload to consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Maintain a well-organized workflow, including design assets, documentation, and project timelines to facilitate effective collaboration.

Are familiar with Agile / SAFE development methodologies and managing work through Jira

Understand how to work effectively within a comprehensive design system.

Have strong presentation and communication skills, with an ability to defend design decisions .

Demonstrate self-confidence, energy, and enthusiasm.

Ensure a quality experience on live digital products by participating in the user acceptance testing process

Grounds design solutions in research and data

Collaborates with a variety of user experience disciplines within the team (Information Architecture, Design System/Standards, User Research, Copywriting) to advance your work

Managing Work, Projects, and Policies

Provides accurate estimates as to needed time to complete work to feed project plans

Consistently meets deadlines once agreed upon

Reports impediments to completing work and meeting deadlines

Proactively communicates project status updates to manager

Successfully manages multiple assignments at once

Accepts critique and critiques work of others in a helpful and professional manner

Communicates in a timely and appropriate manner with teammates

Works independently with minimal supervision, but knows when issues should be escalated to manager
