Director of Development and Community Relations
The Director of Development and Community Relations leads fundraising implementation, donor engagement, volunteer strategy, and community partnership development for The Hospitality Hub.
The Hospitality Hub works to help people exit homelessness. Located in downtown Memphis, the Hub campus is a safe, kind, and respectful environment that serves as a single point of entry to comprehensive support services for those experiencing homelessness. We provide our guests with the stabilizing resources they need, including temporary shelter, assistance acquiring identification, employment opportunities, and referrals to community partners.
Position Summary
The Director of Development and Community Relations leads fundraising implementation, donor engagement, volunteer strategy, and community partnership development for The Hospitality Hub. This position serves as a key external representative of the organization and is responsible for executing The Hub's fundraising strategy through donor stewardship, campaigns, tours, events, and community engagement. This role works closely with the Dragonfly Studio team to support strategy alignment and donor communications.
Responsibilities
Implements The Hub's annual fundraising strategy in collaboration with leadership and Dragonfly Collective.
Manages donor engagement efforts, including cultivation, stewardship, tours, follow-up, and donor communication.
Coordinates fundraising campaigns (annual giving, year-end giving, appeals, sponsorships, and donor events) and tracks performance results.
Oversees donation processing and ensures accurate CRM entry, donor coding, acknowledgments, and reporting.
Builds and maintains relationships with donors, volunteers, partners, businesses, faith communities, and community stakeholders.
Develops and oversees the volunteer program including recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, training, and recognition.
Cultivates and manages community partnerships, including coordination of partner activities and development of MOUs as needed.
Coordinates in-kind donations and serves as a primary point of contact for donation inquiries and resource needs.
Supports communications and storytelling by contributing content for newsletters, donor updates, and outreach materials in alignment with branding guidelines.
Plans and supports community outreach opportunities and Hub-hosted engagement events.
Tracks and reports donor, volunteer, and partnership engagement data; provides periodic updates to leadership.
Supports organizational initiatives and assists with onboarding/training of PRN staff and development support roles as assigned.

May supervise fundraising/development staff.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent experience).
3 years experience in fundraising, donor engagement, nonprofit development, community relations, or similar work preferred.
Strong relationship-building, communication, and public-facing professionalism.
Experience working with donor databases/CRMs and maintaining accurate records.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed for events and community engagement.

CPR/First Aid Certificate
De-escalation and mediation training
Up to date on all employee training and policies
Reporting and data collection through HMIS-ready tablets
Training on Vulnerability Index (VI)
