Production Technician I

Production Operator

To provide production operation duties to ensure efficient unit operation, proper and safe equipment operation in accordance with Plant Operation policies/procedures and OSHA safety rules and regulations, and production of high quality products.
Duties include performing light maintenance, including but not limited to pump oiling, minor filter change-outs, small steam leak and trap repairs; taking and reporting utility readings; reviewing P&IDs and SOPs; computer input of quality alert information; miscellaneous other duties as required.
Physical requirements include working a 12-hour rotating shift, working overtime as needed, working in extreme conditions (temperature and humidity), performing repetitive tasks, detecting defects and errors, communicating clearly and accurately, working under pressure, reading and comprehending job procedures, bending/stooping, standing, squatting, walking during 12-hour shifts, ascending and descending stairs, emergency response, reaching, pushing/pulling weights up to 60 lbs. or more, lifting/carrying weights up to 60 lbs. or more, hearing, vision, use of hands, sense of smell, mobility, climbing, turning/twisting, protective equipment, and driving (forklifts, pick-up trucks, cars) with automatic and/or manual transmissions.
Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, 2-years' experience in an industrial, manufacturing or plant environment preferred, ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift, ability to work overtime as needed, demonstrated mechanical aptitude, successful completion of a pre-employment physical and drug screen, fitness test, and background check.
Preferred qualifications include an associate degree in Process Technology, minimum of 2 years post high school education, 2 year experience in a chemical manufacturing environment preferred.
