Director – Mergers & Acquisitions

The Mergers & Acquisitions function drives the company’s inorganic growth, identifying, evaluating, and executing acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate alliances, and divestitures that align with Baker Hughes’ long‑term priorities.
Role Overview
The Director of Mergers & Acquisitions leads and executes complex M&A transactions across the enterprise, managing end‑to‑end deal execution from opportunity origination through due diligence, approval, and closing, while coordinating with internal functions and external advisors.
Responsibilities
- Drive all activities related to M&A projects, including private or public acquisitions, mergers, joint ventures, corporate alliances, and divestitures.
- Execute multiple aspects of M&A transactions such as strategic assessment, valuation analysis, due diligence, and transaction structuring.
- Coordinate and lead cross‑functional teams across legal, finance, tax, technology, human resources, and other corporate functions throughout all stages of the M&A process.
- Manage relationships and communications with target companies, external advisors, and Baker Hughes senior executives.
- Support the development and finalization of business cases, transaction documentation, and materials for governance and executive leadership approval.
- Ensure disciplined project and risk management and timely execution of transactions in line with Baker Hughes’ strategic priorities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in mergers & acquisitions or related transaction roles.
- Preferred experience in investment banking, private equity, management consulting, or corporate development.
- Proven track record leading cross‑functional teams and managing complex M&A processes end‑to‑end.
- Strong financial, analytical, and strategic evaluation capabilities.
- Experience working with networks of external stakeholders, including financial advisors, legal counsel, and other transaction partners.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and engage senior leadership.
