UK Head of Marketing
We are hiring a commercially-minded UK Head of Marketing to own the marketing function and drive growth across the UK market.
Abler is on a mission to raise the level of organised sport. We believe there is no better way to develop physical health, mental health, and social health than through sport. Abler already powers 75% of Iceland's total population, and now we are expanding in the UK (our second largest market). From Premier League clubs to Sunday league teams, some of the biggest and most respected brands in sport are already successfully using Abler to run their sport in the UK. We have a great value proposition and the foundation is there. What we need now is someone to build on it.
This is a genuine builder's role. You will set strategy, execute campaigns, create content and shape how Abler is known in the UK, and grow a team around you over time. You will be working alongside an external partner already running ads, SEO, and demand generation, so you can focus on what matters most from day one.

This is a remote role, you will work independently from wherever suits you best, with regular collaboration across the team online and in person when it counts. The role begins as a contractor position with a clear path to a full-time role as you demonstrate impact and as our UK team continues to grow.
We need someone equally comfortable defining quarterly OKRs in the morning and writing a compelling email sequence in the afternoon.
What You'll Do
Set the Strategy: Own Abler's UK marketing strategy, OKRs, budget allocation, and lead generation targets, with input into board-level reporting.
Drive Demand: Plan and execute outbound campaigns end-to-end, optimise nurture sequences, and continuously improve funnel conversion rates.
Shape the Brand: Define the content strategy, write case studies and newsletters, and oversee website development in collaboration with design and dev resources.
Work Cross-Functionally: Lead marketing-sales alignment, collaborate closely with Sales, Customer Success, and Product, and manage external agency partners.
Build Partnerships: Identify and develop strategic partnerships that extend Abler's reach and create more impact on people and communities through sport.

What We're Looking For
Must-Haves
A genuine knowledge of and passion for sport and community impact
4+ years of B2B marketing experience, ideally in SaaS or a related tech environment
A proven track record of owning demand generation and driving measurable pipeline contribution
Strong experience working in and managing CRM systems across workflows, sequences, and reporting
Excellent written communication skills; you can write copy that converts
Comfortable operating at both strategic and execution levels
Experience managing agency or outsource partners
Experience running paid campaigns (Meta, Google Ads) and working knowledge of SEO, both technical and content-led
Comfort using AI tools to build and streamline marketing processes
A data-driven mindset with the ability to translate metrics into action
Based in the UK with the right to work
Able to work independently and remotely
Willing to travel within the UK and for regular trips to our headquarters in Iceland
Nice-to-Haves
Hands-on HubSpot experience specifically
Hands-on experience with outbound tools such as Apollo, Clay, Lemlist, or Smartleads
Experience marketing to sports, leisure, or membership-based organisations
Familiarity with multi-market campaigns; experience in Spanish-speaking markets is a bonus
Previous experience hiring and managing a small marketing team
