About the Role:
The Wall Street Journal is seeking a news minded, culturally curious, entrepreneurial editor to join our Live Journalism team.
This editor will own and shape agendas for our award-winning Journal Houses which take place across the world and help produce the Future of Everything event franchise.
We're looking for a journalist who has experience building franchises and a track record of getting things done with an emphasis on originality and exclusivity. You will have a network that dives deep into business, technology and finance. The ideal candidate will also have knowledge of the current competitive landscape and a sense for the topics people want to read and consume.
You will work across coverage areas to source, build, own, and manage relationships with business, culture, social and political leaders featured at Journal gatherings. Not only will you lead some of the conversations that take place on our stage, but you'll work on how to continue the conversation post-event, thinking through how to package event coverage for print, digital, newsletters, video, audio and social media to reach new audiences.
This position requires creativity, entrepreneurship and organization in equal measure. You will report to the Head of Live Journalism, Katherine Finnerty.
You Will:
Work closely with the Head of Live Journalism to program WSJ's slate of programming at Journal Houses at the World Economic Forum, UNGA and Cannes Lions
Shape the next chapter of the Future of Everything franchise, potentially including smaller, sector-specific events
Collaborate with editors and reporters across the newsroom to coordinate speaker invites and build agendas that reflect the caliber and breadth of WSJ coverage
Host and moderate conversations on stage.
Manage an array of stakeholders across Dow Jones and external production partners.
Uphold the highest WSJ journalistic, ethical and legal standards across event programs.
You Have:
Excellent multitasking skills and the ability to maintain composure under pressure.
An in-depth knowledge of business, entertainment and culture with a healthy track record of relationships with leaders in the space.
A passion for news, reporting and surfacing new trends. Can you produce programming that our audience hasn't heard or seen before?
Superior writing, editing and communication skills
