Broadcast Motion Design – Assistant Art Director - Full Time | On-Site (Tampa, FL)
Position Overview
FOX Television Stations is seeking a highly creative, forward-thinking Assistant Art Director to help shape the visual future of our broadcast design ecosystem.
In this role, you'll partner closely with Creative Directors and Art Directors to drive brand evolution, lead design execution, and elevate motion storytelling across our stations nationwide. You'll be both a hands-on design/animation expert and a strategic contributor, helping guide projects from concept through delivery while mentoring designers and influencing creative direction.
We're looking for someone who thrives at the intersection of design excellence, production mastery, and emerging technology—especially in the rapidly evolving space of AI-assisted creative workflows.
What You'll Do
Collaborate with Creative Directors and Art Directors to define and evolve brand identities, visual systems, and motion design standards
Lead and contribute to high-impact broadcast design projects from concept through final delivery
Oversee and execute 2D/3D animation, design, and compositing across multiple concurrent projects
Help manage production pipelines, timelines, and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Provide creative guidance and mentorship to designers, helping elevate team output and consistency
Champion innovation by exploring and implementing AI-driven creative workflows within the design pipeline
Act as a bridge between creative vision and technical execution, ensuring both excellence and efficiency
Stay ahead of industry trends in broadcast design, motion graphics, and generative AI tools
What You Bring
5+ years of broadcast motion design experience within a collaborative team environment
A strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional design sensibility, animation skills, and storytelling ability
Proven ability to take projects from concept to completion with minimal oversight
Experience balancing multiple projects with competing deadlines and priorities
Strong leadership instincts with the ability to influence creative direction and mentor others
Excellent communication skills and a solutions-oriented mindset
Technical Expertise
Required:
Adobe Creative Cloud (After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, Media Encoder)
Maxon Cinema 4D (or equivalent 3D platform)
Industry-standard plug-ins and workflows for broadcast design
Preferred:
ChyronHego ecosystem and broadcast graphics workflows
Emerging Technology & AI (Highly Valued)
We are actively building the next generation of creative workflows. Ideal candidates will have experience with or strong interest in AI-driven tools, including:
Adobe Firefly
Google Gemini
Runway
Veo
Nano Banana (or similar emerging platforms)
You should be comfortable:
Integrating AI tools into design and animation pipelines
Experimenting with generative design, video, and ideation workflows
Helping define best practices for AI-assisted creative production
Acting as a team resource and leader in emerging tech adoption
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Design or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
Demonstrated high-level production expertise in motion design and animation
Strong attention to detail and technical problem-solving ability
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Flexibility to support varying production schedules when needed

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $100,000.00-110,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
