Position Summary
The Community Relations Manager serves as a key liaison between players, coaches, and the football team and the Bay Area community. This role supports the planning and execution of year‑round community engagement initiatives in collaboration with stakeholders, including the NFL, players and their families, ownership, corporate partners, the 49ers Foundation, and local nonprofit organizations.
Reporting to the Director of Community Relations, the Manager develops and implements strategic programming that enhances the organization’s community impact. Responsibilities include leading community initiatives such as Community Tuesday events, gameday activations, NFL‑led programs, player engagement efforts, and 49ers Family programming.
Responsibilities and Duties
Develop and execute high‑visibility programs that incorporate active players, players’ families, ownership, alumni players, coaches, and team executives.
Assist with player recruitment, communication, and movement for community events and appearances.
Manage logistics, vendors, timelines, and on‑site operations across multiple events and initiatives.
Coordinate community impact programs and maintain strong relationships with nonprofit and community partners.
Execute game day and recognition programs, including honoree selection and in‑game experiences.
Plan and deliver NFL‑driven community initiatives, including but not limited to: Crucial Catch, Salute to Service, Inspire Change, and My Cause My Cleats.
Support Training Camp activities, including community activations and family engagement efforts.
Track program metrics and provide reporting and recommendations for improvement.
Collaborate cross‑functionally to ensure alignment with organizational goals, brand standards, and community impact strategy.
Supervises Community Relations Intern.
Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree and at least 5‑7 years’ relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience executing large‑scale community events and activations preferred
Experience managing staff and/or volunteers preferred
Proficient with Microsoft Suite, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
Google Suite experience required.
Adobe Photoshop experience is a plus.

The employee will be sitting in a typical office environment the majority of the time and may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The employee will work in the community in a number of different capacities. Examples include hosting events in‑store at corporate partner retail locations, escorting and managing players and families in visits to hospital partners, directing and overseeing 49ers front office staff at volunteer events throughout the Bay Area, etc.
The employee is frequently required to sit, use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk and lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
This position requires the ability to work extended hours and/or weekends.
Travel
15% of local travel time and 5% of intra and interstate travel requiring overnight stay are expected for this position.
