West Coast Public Affairs Intern

Remote but CA or West Coast Preferred (Must be able to work West Coast Hours)

2-3 months
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Manage In‑District Meeting (IDM) data in Salesforce, including entering records, pulling lists, and reconciling attendee information against the internal tracking spreadsheet
Research and vet prospective IDM participants across Congressional districts using ActionKit, identifying community influentials and assessing advocacy alignment
Maintain organized outreach tracking by district, including vetting notes and engagement history
Adapt and personalize templated communications for IDM outreach, including meeting requests, invitations, and thank‑you correspondence
Draft and send communications on behalf of staff as directed
Attend virtual IDMs to provide real‑time note‑taking and prepare post‑meeting summaries capturing key concerns, commitments, and follow‑up action items
Desired Skills and Experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including a comfort and willingness to cold‑call people on the phone
Excellent organizational skills and careful attention to detail
Strong relational and interpersonal skills
Ability to juggle multiple tasks and work quickly on a deadline
Proficiency in using databases, internet research tools, and Microsoft Office Suite
Interest in and/or knowledge of Congress, congressional operations, and U.S. politics
Familiarity with J Street’s issues, particularly U.S. foreign policy on the Middle East, the U.S.-Israel relationship, the Israeli‑Palestinian conflict, and American Jewish communal affairs

Compensation and Time Commitment
This part‑time internship pays $18/hr. Interns can expect to work 10‑15 hours per week in‑person. Applicants are considered on a rolling basis. Please indicate in your cover letter which days and how many hours you are available.
