CBSM Engagement Manager

Overview

The College of Business and Security Management team is looking for an energetic, organized member to join our dynamic team as an engagement manager. This position is physically located at the UAF campus in Fairbanks, Alaska. It plays a critical role in planning events, managing social media communications, and coordinating student organizations.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute programs and events well in advance. • Collaborate productively within a dynamic team. • Develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with colleagues, supervisors, the campus community, and the public. • Apply effective marketing strategies, create, manage, and evaluate social media content and campaigns. • Coordinate and inspire volunteers. • Apply skills in photo editing, graphic design, and video editing. • Work occasional nights and weekends as needed. • Exercise good judgment, take initiative, and make effective, responsible decisions while remaining flexible to changes.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of experience in event planning, budgeting, marketing, planning, directing, and coordinating programs and activities.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, leadership abilities, and high self‑motivation.
  • Understanding of group dynamics and ability to work effectively with individuals and groups.
  • Knowledge of effective marketing strategies and emerging technologies.
  • Experience coordinating and inspiring volunteers.
  • Skills in photo editing, graphic design, and video editing.
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field is required; a master's degree is preferred.

Position Details

This full‑time, non‑exempt staff position is located on the Troth Yeddha' campus in Fairbanks. It offers a competitive salary and a full employee benefits package, including retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental, and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 79, based on education and experience.
