Sales And Customer Development Manager

As part of our Agribusiness team, you'll help our customers leverage technology and data insights to connect upstream and downstream and optimize profitability, efficiency and insights. Our key customers typically include; Ag Input Manufacturers, Ag Retail, and leading food producers. The Sales and Customer Development Manager will work remotely, reporting to Australia Sales and will be responsible for the company's sales and customer development success for selected customers and prospects in Australia and New Zealand. This will be accomplished through effective sales, customer development, account management, solid market execution skills, and the ability to develop strong relationships. The desired candidate will have proven knowledge and experience in Sales, Account Management, Customer Development, Prospecting and Software as a Service. Experience in Agribusiness is also highly valued.
This role is predominantly remote and working from home, with the expectation to manage/travel in Australia from time to time, and on occasion New Zealand.
Here's how:
Present, promote, renew and sell primarily Supply Chain Efficiency solutions and Food Safety and Quality solutions to existing and prospective customers. Agronomy and Rebate Management solutions are also relevant
Segment the assigned customers, prospects and territories, and create a structured approach to account management, renewals, prospecting and new sales
Develop and maintain positive, trusted and partnering relationships with customers and prospects, at both head office level and bottom up with influential end users
Provide feedback regarding customer usage and needs to Product Management, Marketing and other teams
Keep all customer and activity information live and up-to-date in Salesforce, and meet other Salesforce pipeline and data requirements
Provide feedback to the marketing, product and sales enablement teams on content required by prospects in the sales process
What you bring to the role:
Ability to develop and execute account plans to foster deep, long-term customer partnerships, maximize adoption of solutions, and drive recurring revenue through consistent retention and upsell opportunities
Perform the proper discovery through to a winning sale strategy for each target. Understand prospect's position with competitors, uncover a prospect's needs and pain points, develop and position compelling "Why Us?" and determine buying criteria and timeline
Ability to own and control a sale or renewal from the cradle to the grave, manage objections, ask the right questions and propose product solutions
Knowledge of software platforms frequently used by medium and large enterprises
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including excellent presentation skills
Ability to establish strong and trusted relationships with customers and prospects, and collaborate at all levels internally and externally
Excellent at managing time, priorities, and tasks
Able to work independently while being a team player locally and globally in a remote setting using virtual communication tools
3+ years of experience in sales, account management or business development
Proven experience in the food or agribusiness sectors is highly valued
Must be equally comfortable selling to middle level as well as executive level
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual will need to be or become proficient in Google Suite applications and Salesforce
Travel required to meet with customers as needed. In addition, the position may require occasional travel to industry events and trade shows
