Power BI Designer Developer - Banking / Financial Domain

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Power BI Designer Developer with a strong focus on creating visually compelling, user-friendly dashboards and reports. This role emphasizes both technical expertise and design capability to deliver intuitive, high-quality business intelligence solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in Power BI, strong data modeling skills, and a background in financial or banking domains.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop interactive, visually engaging Power BI dashboards and reports
Create and maintain Paginated Reports using Report Builder (SSRS)
Transform business requirements into intuitive and user-friendly BI solutions
Develop and optimize data models using Power BI, including DAX and Power Query
Perform data profiling and create optimized SQL queries for reporting
Enhance report usability, layout, and visual appeal to improve user experience
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and deliver actionable insights
Integrate data from various sources, including cloud platforms and relational databases
Ensure performance optimization and scalability of BI solutions
Maintain documentation and best practices for BI development
Required Qualifications

12-15+ years of overall experience
Minimum 10+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related field
Strong expertise in Power BI, including Power Query, DAX, data modeling, and visualization techniques
Proven experience designing and delivering visually compelling dashboards and reports
Experience creating Paginated Reports using SSRS/Report Builder
Strong SQL skills with experience in relational databases
Experience with data profiling and query optimization
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to present a portfolio of Power BI dashboards/reports (original work)
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in banking, financial services, or private equity domains
Experience with Tableau and Microsoft cloud data platforms (Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Fabric, ADLS, SQL MI)
Experience with Python for data transformation and analysis
Strong understanding of UX/UI principles in data visualization
Familiarity with enterprise BI environments and best practices
