Associate Account Executive (AAE)
is an entry-level to early-career sales role designed to train future Account Executives. The role functions as an apprentice to senior sellers, supporting the sales team in prospecting, pitch development, account coverage, and day-to-day sales activity. While not a quota-carrying position, the AAE plays an active role in the selling process and gains direct exposure to clients, agencies, and the full sales motion. The primary objective of the role is sales training and readiness, while meaningfully increasing the productivity of the sales team.
Responsibilities
Assist with prospecting and account research across assigned lists
Help prepare for RFPs, upfront conversations, and scatter opportunities
Track and organize sales materials, follow-ups and meeting notes
Account Coverage
Provide continuity and coverage for account lists during Account Executive absences (e.g., leaves of absence, vacations)
Maintain continuity of communication with agencies and clients as directed by the sales team
Support active accounts by responding to basic inquiries and routing requests appropriately
Client and Agency Interaction
Attend client and agency meetings alongside Sellers
Participate in presentations and pitches as appropriate
Support client entertainment, events, and relationship-building activities
Internal Coordination
Partner with planning, research, marketing, and operations teams to gather materials and insights
Ensure sales teams are well-prepared for meetings and presentations

The Associate Account Executive role is explicitly designed as a feeder into an Account Executive position. High performers are typically promoted into junior sales roles after demonstrating mastery of sales fundamentals, client readiness, and internal execution.

What We Offer
At GumGum, competitive base pay is a part of a total rewards package which also includes benefits, an emphasis on recognition, development, and wellness. The reasonable estimated base pay range for this role is from $63,000 to $73,000 annually (note - this role is paid hourly). The actual amount may be higher or lower. Individual compensation will vary based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant qualifications, work location, and labor market conditions.
The total rewards package offered also includes an employer-matched 401(k) retirement plan, and depending on the role, participation in a bonus, commission, or stock incentive program.
