Student Status: Work Study Optional – You are not required to be a Federal Work Study Recipient to hold this position.
Work Location: Springfield Campus.
Department: Plaster Student Union Administration.
Hiring Range: $15/hour.
Sponsorship Information: Applicants must be currently authorized to work for any employer in the United States on a full-time basis. This position is not eligible for work visa sponsorship.
Operating Hours: The PSU is open Monday-Friday 7am-11pm and Saturday-Sunday 11am-11pm unless otherwise scheduled for events. Late nights and weekends are required.
Hours per week: 10–20 hours.
Primary Duties
Read and interpret room diagrams to assure proper set-up for events.
Set up and troubleshoot audio‑visual equipment including computers, video projectors, microphones, sound systems, and lighting.
Inspect equipment for damage, and communicate issues that need to be addressed.
Respond to requests from building managers and event coordinators.
Attend staff meetings and training sessions as assigned.
Required Qualifications
A minimum 2.0 GPA.
Be a degree‑seeking MSU student.
Flexible availability including nights and some weekends, as hours vary weekly.
Basic knowledge and some experience working with technical equipment (computers, projectors, microphones, sound systems) for events.
Ability to follow directions, manage time efficiently, and work well under pressure.
Positive customer‑oriented attitude and professional image.
Additional Qualifications
Flexible and/or open availability, as event times and lengths vary each week.
Preferred: some experience working with large sound systems, event technology, and/or theatrical lighting.
Preferred: minimum 2 hours of daytime availability between 7 am‑3 pm Monday‑Thursday.
