Job Overview
RWS Global seeks a Lead Designer to join our team, reporting directly to the Creative Director and Creative Leadership. The role plays a key part in conceiving, developing, and presenting creative content for destination design projects. The Lead Designer collaborates with creative team members during brainstorming, charrettes, and visual development, overseeing outside consultant resources throughout the project cycle. The position requires both artistic and technical expertise to define and articulate concepts that visualize the creative vision, guide build efforts in the field, and report to executive creative design and development teams.
Role & Responsibilities
Define and lead creative concepts for assigned projects, ensuring deliverables align with guest experience design.
Oversee and direct the execution of project elements to ensure the intent and overall quality of guest experiences.
Manage teams of creative project personnel, including writers, artists, and scenic designers.
Create or facilitate creative intent through story development, treatments, storyboards, visual models, sketches, and concept art.
Present project materials to internal and external audiences, communicating concept, content, and status.
Work with the creative leadership team to identify and procure talent and resources needed for project completion.
Act as the project contact with internal and external partners.
Travel as required.
Qualifications
3‑5 years of experience designing experience‑based attractions, lands, location‑based entertainment, or theme parks.
Proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp, Rhino, and AutoCAD.
Core abilities in one or more artistic disciplines (design, architecture, story development, illustration, theatrical/scenic design).
Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate concepts through various media.
Thorough knowledge of the creative process and deliverables.
Ability to convey complex artistic ideas through written and visual materials.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
A valid passport for the duration of employment is required for all travel‑related roles.
