REQUIREMENT

Job Title: SFG Architect

Location Remote Role (100%)

Duration: 6+ Months

(32 hours / week)

Role Overview
The SFG Architect is responsible for providing technical leadership and architectural direction for solutions built on IBM Sterling File Gateway (SFG). This role focuses on strategy, design, and stakeholder alignment rather than hands-on deployment or implementation.

Key Responsibilities
Lead architectural discussions with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements, constraints, and long-term objectives
Define and shape SFG-related initiatives, including modernization, scalability, resiliency, and integration strategies
Design end-to-end SFG solution architectures, including file transfer flows, security models, and integration patterns
Develop high-level and detailed architecture artifacts such as solution diagrams, design documents, and standards
Provide guidance and recommendations to implementation and operations teams without directly performing deployments
Evaluate existing SFG environments and propose improvements aligned with best practices and enterprise architecture principles
Act as the subject matter expert for SFG, advising on capabilities, limitations, and roadmap considerations
Ensure architectural designs align with security, compliance, and governance requirements
Required Skills & Experience

Strong experience designing solutions using IBM Sterling File Gateway (SFG)
Deep understanding of managed file transfer (MFT), B2B integration, and secure file exchange concepts
Experience leading technical discussions and influencing architecture decisions across teams
Ability to translate business needs into scalable, maintainable technical designs
Familiarity with security concepts such as encryption, certificates, authentication, and authorization in file transfer platforms
Role Scope

Architecture, strategy, and design ownership
No hands-on deployment, installation, or operational support responsibilities
