About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Alias Design Modeler to support the development of high-quality automotive surfaces for both exterior and interior components. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced studio environment and enjoys translating design concepts into precise, production-ready digital models.
You’ll work closely with design and engineering teams to bring concepts to life—from early sketches to final Class A surfaces—while ensuring high standards of accuracy, aesthetics, and manufacturability.
What You’ll Do
- Develop Class A and Class B surface models for automotive applications
- Convert design sketches into detailed 3D digital models with minimal guidance
- Create high-quality renderings, animations, and visual presentations
- Collaborate with design, engineering, and cross-functional teams to resolve design challenges
- Deliver production-ready math data including draft analysis, part splits, and surface continuity
- Utilize scan data and advanced modeling techniques to refine surfaces
- Support prototyping and visualization efforts using multiple digital tools
- Stay current with emerging modeling technologies and improve existing workflows
What We’re Looking For
- Strong expertise in Alias for automotive surfacing (Class A focus)
- Experience with tools such as Maya, Unigraphics (UG/NX), Photoshop, and Illustrator
- Proven ability to create high-quality surface models and photorealistic renderings
- Solid understanding of engineering constraints (draft angles, die direction, stitching, etc.)
- Experience working with scan data and high-precision modeling standards
- Ability to manage multiple deliverables in a deadline-driven environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Previous exposure to automotive design studios preferred

- Background in industrial or transportation design
- Experience with clay modeling or physical model integration
- Leadership or team coordination experience
