Summary: Responsible for performing routine patient accounting activities including billing, collections, payment posting, customer service, and credit balance resolution to support timely reimbursement and efficient revenue cycle operations. Ensures accounts are worked and within established timelines.
Responsibilities:
Works assigned accounts to ensure timely follow-up and resolution.
Performs billing, collections, payment posting, credit balance, or customer service functions based on assignment.
Documents all account activity accurately and thoroughly.
Follows established workflows, payer guidelines, and departmental standards.
Identifies basic issues and escalates as appropriate.
Work Experience:
At least 1 year Healthcare revenue cycle, billing, collections, or related required
Experienced in hospital or physician revenue cycle operations preferred
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Two-year Associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred
Licenses and Certifications:
Completion of all assigned HealthStream training 1 year preferred
