UAV Technician Job Description
xCraft is the fastest growing drone manufacturer in the Northwest. Our mission is to develop powerful flying
machines that change the world. The UAV Technician must be a rock star employee that is capable of building,
flying, and repairing drones or RC aircraft. The UAV Technician works as part of a team to accomplish this goal.
This position reports to the Operations Manager mainly focuses on building, flying, and repairing drones or RC
aircraft.
Primary Tasks:
● Building flight vehicle structure and related components using composite, foam, and wooden construction
techniques
● Installing, repairing, and troubleshooting flight vehicle electrical systems including, but not limited to,
power systems, flight controllers, sensors, cameras, and radio control systems
● Excellent solder skill a must
● Ability to produce clean and neat work a must
● Excellent drone and radio-controlled piloting skills
● Ability to assist with experimental tests on drone prototypes, systems, and equipment
● Support production and manufacturing teams with installations and fabrication
● Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work, multi-task, and manage time effectively
● Good personal time management skills and strong work ethic
● Must be able and willing to work within a team environment
Desired skills:
● Aerospace- related education/ experience a plus
● Solid modeling experience
● Hybrid VTOL design experience
● General understanding of Fixed Wing flight
● Electrical lab experience- logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.
Must be competent using the following software:
● Microsoft Office Suite / Google Drive Suite
● Slack – For team communication/instant messaging
● Wunderlist – for task lists/sharing/tracking
● Asana – for setting and tracking schedules and remote team coordination
● Windows 10 and Linux desktop
● Mission Planner, AuduPilot, RFD 900 Tools
Common Tasks:
All xCrafters take part in common tasks. We are all expected to keep our work area and common areas clean
and functional. If you notice something needs to be done, do it! ☺
● Office cleanup – sweeping, dusting, general organizing, taking out trash, vacuuming, etc.
● Kitchen patrol – washing dishes, making coffee, refrigerator cleaning, counter cleanup, etc.
● Answering phones
● Shipping/Receiving – packing, creating shipping labels, taking packages to post office, etc.
● General labor as needed
● Performs other duties as assigned.
Acceptable Experience and Training:
● Two (2) years’ experience in a related field is required; or
● An equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and
abilities to successfully perform the essential functions of the position may be considered.
● Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other technical field a plus
● Part 107 Pilot License a plus
