Redmont Talent Partners is working with an ecommerce children's clothing company in Birmingham, Alabama looking to hire an Illustrator to work with the Graphic Design team. We are dedicated to creating playful, high-quality apparel that sparks imagination. Our designs celebrate childhood through color, storytelling, and whimsical artistry.

Position Overview
We are seeking a talented Illustrator with a strong sense of creativity and style to develop original, whimsical artwork for our children’s clothing collections. This role focuses on creating charming, playful illustrations using Procreate that translate beautifully onto garments and resonate with both children and parents. Ideas for illustrations will be provided by the apparel design team.

Key Responsibilities

Create original, hand-drawn illustrations for seasonal clothing collections using Procreate

Develop playful, imaginative characters, patterns, and motifs tailored to children’s apparel

Collaborate with the design and product teams to align artwork with brand vision and seasonal themes

Prepare production-ready artwork files, ensuring proper formatting for printing on fabric

Adapt designs based on feedback while maintaining artistic integrity

Stay current with trends in children’s fashion, illustration styles, and color palettes

Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

Strong proficiency in Procreate (portfolio required)

A distinctive, whimsical illustration style suitable for children’s apparel

Understanding of color theory, composition, and repeat pattern design

Experience preparing artwork for print production (screen printing, DTG, etc.)

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow brand guidelines

Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

Interest in drawing children themed designs

Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop)

Knowledge of fabric printing processes and limitations

Background in character design or storytelling through illustration
