Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent and 2 years of professional experience

Position Summary: This is specialized artistic, scientific, and technical work that involves the preparation of anatomical, pathological, and surgical illustrations, 3-D models and animations, and other media used in biomedical communications. The work requires knowledge of science and the use of specialized software to plan, design, organize, and produce a wide range of educational materials. The position interacts with faculty members to develop illustrations, animations, interactive teaching materials, and 3-D models. Work is performed under the general direction of the Director of Educational Resources and functions with considerable independence. Work is reviewed through periodic conferences and observation of results.
This position has a limited term appointment which is expected to end 2 years after start date. The position may be extended beyond the initial term, contingent upon continued funding.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:
Extensive knowledge of artistic media applicable to the representation of scientific subjects
Proficiency in technologies and software to create illustrations, 3-D models, animations, and present to scientific audiences (Cinema 4D, Maya, Unity, Unreal, ZBrush, Photoshop, After Effects)
Considerable knowledge of anatomy, pathology, surgery, and the major branches of medical sciences
Proven effective communication skills, initiative, flexibility, and teamwork
Training to develop virtual reality, augmented reality, and 3-D models for innovative teaching activities
Physical Demands

Lift and carry up to 20 pounds, with/without assistance
Fine finger dexterity to design and build models and exhibits
Use computer technology to meet performance expectations
Communicate verbally with clients and see graphic images
