Position Details
All coaching positions are posted as open until filled. Applicants applying within 5 days of initial posting are guaranteed consideration per the Coaches collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications and Requirements

Minimum age 21 for head coach; 19 for assistant coach.

Valid background check as per district and WIAA requirements.

Valid first aid and CPR card.

Complete the KSD online application process including professional reference forms.

Annually complete the WIAA general rules clinic, the WIAA‑approved rule clinic for the sport being coached, and the KSD Vector Training before the start of the sports season.

Complete Concussion recognition and management with Return to Play Protocols training, renewed every three years.

Complete Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness and Training, renewed every three years.

Within the third year, complete a school district‑approved Coaching Principles training, NFHS Coaches Fundamentals Course, WIAA Coaches School, or other approved training, and repeat it every three years.

Building athletic directors will review the applicant pool for open positions and contact applicants as needed.

Once hired, the paid coach must read and sign the KSD Coaches Manual.
