Vice President Group Director, Creative, AI

Publicis Groupe Holdings B.V, new york, ny, United States

Salary min: $159,695.00

Salary max: $255,645.00

Overview

We’re hiring a Vice President Group Director, Creative, AI Solutions to be the creative conscience and go‑to storyteller for a human‑led AI creative and production studio. This role blends high‑level creative direction with deep fluency in AI‑enabled workflows to win business, mentor creatives, and deliver exceptional work at scale.

You'll sit at the intersection of creative, production, and technology—leading idea quality, shaping AI‑driven creative solutions, and helping the studio scale commercially and operationally. You will define how creativity is upheld and amplified by AI across the agency, ensuring our work is not only faster, but smarter and more creatively ambitious. This role will directly influence new revenue streams and how the agency competes in a rapidly changing creative economy.

Responsibilities

Day‑to‑day, your role and key responsibilities:

  • Set and defend the creative standard across all AI‑enabled work, ensuring craft, storytelling, and concept strength remain paramount.
  • Translate emerging AI capabilities into creative opportunities and repeatable studio offerings that improve efficiency without compromising quality.
  • Lead pitches and client presentations: sell the studio, articulate AI‑driven creative ideas, and build belief in new ways of working.
  • Partner with Strategy and New Business to surface opportunities, scope work, and shape commercial offerings that drive revenue.
  • Evangelize the studio internally and externally. Run workshops, demos, case studies, and thought leadership to drive adoption and client demand.
  • Mentor, hire, and develop multidisciplinary creative teams (designers, directors, writers, motion, etc.) to operate in Human + AI workflows.
  • Collaborate tightly with creative and production leadership to align on creative ambition with scalable solutions.
  • Create frameworks, templates, and best practices for prompt design, iterative creative reviews, and quality control across AI‑assisted deliverables.
  • Establish ethical guardrails, quality checks, and IP‑aware approaches for responsible use of generative tools.
  • Measure creative and commercial impact: define success metrics, capture learnings, and iterate on studio offerings.

Production‑Craft Emphasis

Bring a hybrid sensibility: classical communication‑arts experience (film craft, lighting, composition, production design, performance direction) combined with modern fluency in AI‑assisted creative workflows.

  • Serve as the studio’s production‑craft barometer: set expectations and judge technical and sensory craft across formats—including lighting, food styling, composition, production design, actor/directing choices, pacing, VFX, sound design, and character creation.
  • Translate craft standards into briefs, AI prompt frameworks, and QC checklists so AI‑assisted outputs meet the look, feel, and emotional intent of live production.
  • Provide constructive, actionable notes on both traditional and AI‑generated assets to ensure they read as authentic, likeable, and consumable by audiences.
  • Ensure AI outputs respect established craft conventions (e.g., how to make food look lit and delicious, how to design a likeable character arc and performance beat) and adapt those conventions where AI can enhance or streamline the process without eroding authenticity.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 10+ years in senior creative leadership (Creative Director, Head of Creative) ideally inside agencies, studios, or innovation labs.
  • Proven track record of award‑winning, strategically strong work across digital, social, video, and experiential formats.
  • Hands‑on familiarity with generative AI and related tools across image, video, audio, copy, and multimodal workflows. And the ability to translate capabilities into practice.
  • Experience leading client‑facing pitches and business development, with strong presentation and persuasion skills.
  • Demonstrated success mentoring and growing creative teams in fast‑moving environments.
  • Experience creating or implementing new creative workflows, tooling, or studio practices at scale.
  • Strong strategic thinking, storytelling, and visual/creative judgment.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, rapid experimentation, and a bias for learning and iteration.
  • Senior client‑facing skills and willingness to travel as required.

Nice‑to‑have

  • Background designing Human + AI collaboration models, prompt architectures, or creative tooling.
  • Experience building training programs, internal evangelism, or community‑of‑practice models.
  • Familiarity with legal/IP/ethical issues around generative content and vendor evaluation.

What Sets You Apart

  • You lead with taste, critical judgment, and a clear point of view.
  • You can both inspire big ideas and translate them into repeatable, revenue‑generating offerings.
  • You’re an excellent communicator, educator, and seller of new thinking.
  • You build people‑first teams and foster a culture of craft + experimentation.

Got the sparkle? Apply if you believe your unique skills are a fit.
