The Role

The Communications Specialist – PR is a member of the Brand Marketing team, reporting to the Director of Communications. The role sits at the intersection of PR and editorial, shaping how the brand is presented across all channels and ensuring that every touch‑point feels thoughtful, responsive and on‑brand.
Responsibilities

Drive proactive PR outreach, develop compelling pitches, build relationships with editors and media contacts, and secure earned media placements that elevate brand visibility.
Write and edit press releases, media kits, executive messaging and editorial content, ensuring a consistent, elevated voice.
Utilise AI and the latest tools to accelerate research, spark ideas and increase writing efficiency.
Assist with the editorial content calendar – manage scheduling, write and edit long‑form blog articles, surface trend insights that resonate with brides, retailers and industry insiders.
Produce blog posts on subjects ranging from bridal trends to brand storytelling, maintaining the brand voice and engaging the audience.
Support community management across social accounts, monitor conversations, respond to comments and DMs, and nurture a connected brand community.
Track media coverage, compile reporting and identify opportunities to turn brand moments into headlines.
Collaborate on strategic communications planning for launches, campaigns and events, in partnership with the Director of Communications.
Work with the Community Management Specialist to identify brand‑engagement opportunities, partnerships and activations extending beyond earned media.
Stay plugged into the bridal and fashion conversation – track industry trends, competitor coverage and cultural moments to inform timely pitching.
Maintain media lists, press contacts and outreach documentation, keeping PR efforts organized and efficient.
Qualifications

Minimum 4 years’ experience in communications, PR or editorial; proven track record of pitching, placement and reader‑engaged content.
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Business, Communications, Marketing, English or related field preferred.
Strong editorial instinct, confident writing style and fluency in AP style.
Experience building media relationships and securing earned placements across print, digital and trade outlets.
Comfort juggling multiple projects simultaneously with strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
A natural storyteller who can translate brand moments into media‑worthy narratives.
Ability to create meaningful engagement and conversations with audiences on social media.
Collaborative, team‑player mindset with willingness to support a variety of tasks.
Experience in apparel, bridal, fashion or retail is a plus, though genuine curiosity about the industry is paramount.
