Music Specialist

The Therapeutic Recreation Department on the Manhattan campus is seeking a part time Music Therapist on temporary basis to join our team!
The work schedule will be:
Monday–Friday, 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
One evening shift per week, 12:30–8:30 p.m. (preferably Tuesday)
Occasional Sunday coverage, 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Therapeutic Recreation, the Music Therapist is responsible for planning, organizing and directing medically approved recreational programs for residents/clients with a focus on Art Therapy or Music Therapy. He/She plans and implements large special recreation functions, in a manner consistent with the mission, vision and values of The New Jewish Home.
Job Duties:
Plans and implements on going Recreation and Leisure programs with a focus on Art Therapy or Music Therapy interventions for patients and older adults.
Conducts assessments and develops plans of care and attends interdisciplinary care plan meetings.
Adapts techniques and interventions to meet the needs of patients and older adults.
Supervises Art Therapy or Music Therapy students and volunteers.
Performs other related duties that may be assigned.
Masters Degree in Art Therapy or Music Therapy required
Relevant work experience in healthcare setting preferred
Working knowledge of the EMR, excel, word and powerpoint.
Excellent communication skills, oral and in writing.
Salary Range: 34.3773 per hour
