Reporting to the SVP, President – Central Texas Region, the SVP President–McLane Children’s is responsible for planning, directing, and leading the operations of Baylor Scott and White Health (BSWH) McLane Children’s Medical Center and affiliated clinics/ambulatory services. They collaborate with the CEO and senior leadership to develop short‑ and long‑term strategies, priorities, and policies that support BSWH’s business objectives, including financial and operational targets, governance, and regulatory compliance.
Essential Functions
- Serves as president and top operations executive for BSWH McLane Children’s Medical Center and its clinics/ambulatory services.
- Establishes hospital‑wide operational strategies, policies, programs, and initiatives that enable the highest quality of care, safety, and patient satisfaction.
- Develops and establishes operational goals and objectives aligned with BSWH strategies and business objectives, including performance metrics and scorecards.
- Works closely with the BSWH executive team, operating boards, and Board of Trustees to ensure they are informed and involved in the hospital’s matters.
- Leads operational analysis of costs, business performance, and forecast data to assess progress toward BSWH operational goals.
- Develops and reviews overall operational budgets, allocating resources to support BSWH mission and business goals while ensuring cost‑effective management.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulatory requirements.
- Facilitates interdepartmental activities within the hospital, including communication with Medical Staff.
- Executes resolutions and contracts on behalf of BSWH for the hospital and related areas of responsibility.
- Leads and sponsors key hospital operations initiatives, programs, and task forces to improve operational performance in alignment with BSWH business objectives.
Key Success Factors
- Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, or related field required; Master’s degree strongly preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in healthcare operations management, with senior operations leadership in a large, complex, multi‑site health care system.
- 3+ years of leadership experience.
- Demonstrated experience with operational aspects of hospitals, clinics, and a healthcare system.
- Strong data‑driven orientation and skill in applying operational levers to improve results.
- Demonstrated adaptability and flexibility to a rapidly changing business environment.
- Strategic thinker and proficient in decision‑making.
- Strong presentation skills, both informative and persuasive.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s strongly preferred).
- 7 Years of Experience.
