KVIA Weekend Morning Anchor/Multimedia Journalist/Producer

KVIA-TV is the dominant news station in the El Paso/Las Cruces market. We are seeking a dynamic anchor/multimedia journalist/producer. You will report three days a week, and anchor and produce "Good Morning El Paso Weekend" newscasts.

The ideal candidate will be a versatile professional with a strong on-air presence, exceptional storytelling abilities, and a keen understanding of multimedia journalism.

Responsibilities:

Anchor/Produce for Good Morning El Paso Weekend.
Report and provide dynamic live shots.
Respond quickly to breaking news.
Anchor news broadcast with professionalism, energy, and authority.
Write and produce compelling newscasts.
Write, produce, shoot, edit and deliver compelling news stories for on-air and digital platforms.
Conduct thorough research and interviews to gather accurate information for news reporting.
Collaborate with the news team to develop innovative story ideas and coverage plans.
Utilize social media platforms to engage with the audience and promote news content.
Adhere to strict journalistic standards, ethics, and guidelines in all reporting endeavors.
Stay updated on current events, trends, and developments to ensure comprehensive news coverage.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or related field preferred.
Strong on-air presence and excellent communication skills.
Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro) and multimedia production tools.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced news environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of AP style, news writing principles, and storytelling techniques.
Flexibility to work early morning shifts and adapt to changing schedules.
Must pass a pre-employment background check, MVR check, drug screening and possess a valid driver license.
