Role Description
The Inside Sales & Business Development Specialist plays a critical role at Ewing Foley by improving outside sales efficiency through proactive lead qualification, reactivating aging opportunities, and strategic outreach to distributor branches and end users. This position leverages Ewing Foley's well-established brand and relationships to identify new markets, expand existing business, and generate qualified opportunities throughout the Pacific Northwest. A successful candidate will excel at cultivating and maintaining cross‑functional relationships with Territory Sales Representatives, manufacturer partners, distributor contacts, and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Business Development & Lead Generation

Execute 20-25 outbound calls and personalized emails daily to qualify leads, reactivate dormant accounts, and generate net-new opportunities.

Proactively review Microsoft Dynamics CRM to identify aging, closed‑lost, and inactive opportunities worth revisiting and re‑engaging.

Research upcoming construction projects using Construct Connect and Dodge Reports to identify leads for the outside sales team.

Leverage ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and social media monitoring to validate contact accuracy, discover new leads, and expand existing customer databases.

Identify champions and key stakeholders within target accounts to facilitate sales progression.

Conduct outreach to distributor branch personnel (inside sales, outside sales, and branch managers) to gather market insights and identify product coverage gaps.

Partner with distributor contacts to understand their needs, project pipelines, and opportunities where Ewing Foley can provide better assistance.

Compile valuable market insights, competitive intelligence, and emerging trends for leadership and manufacturer partners.

Collaborate closely with Territory Sales Representatives and the Territory Sales Manager to successfully close deals remotely and support field activities.

Schedule qualified meetings, product demos, and Lunch & Learns for the outside sales team.

Respond promptly to inbound customer interest and nurture accounts to create and close opportunities.

Work hand‑in‑hand with manufacturer principals to gather technical or pricing information for follow‑up and quoting purposes.

CRM Management & Performance Tracking

Maintain accurate records of all activities, customer interactions, and opportunity updates within Microsoft Dynamics CRM, ensuring data integrity and accurate forecasting.

Generate weekly reports summarizing call activity, lead status, reactivated opportunities, and meetings scheduled for leadership and outside sales.

Manage opportunity pipeline status and contribute to strategic planning with market research findings.

Achieve and exceed daily, weekly, and monthly metrics including calls made, meetings set, qualified leads generated, new contacts added, and pipeline value created.

Additional Responsibilities

Actively contribute to weekly team meetings, sharing progress updates on key accounts and opportunities.

Support business development programs and marketing initiatives to boost sales and expand market share for represented manufacturers.

Represent Ewing Foley with enthusiasm at industry events, trade shows, and manufacturer meetings as needed.

Qualifications
Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in business, Sales, Marketing, or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience).

3-5 years of industry experience in Construction, Technology, Electrical Distribution, AV Sales, SDR/Inside Sales, Customer Service, or Hospitality.

Proven record of excelling in sales, SDR, or customer service roles with demonstrated ability to generate qualified opportunities.

Certifications (Preferred)

Sales certifications or industry credentials such as Certified Sales Development Representative (CSDR), Certified Inside Sales Professional (CISP), Certified Sales Associate (CSA), or equivalent.

Skills and Abilities
Technical & Platform Proficiency

Proficient in Microsoft Dynamics CRM, including opportunity tracking, reporting, and activity management.

Experience with ZoomInfo, Construct Connect, Dodge Reports, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and social media prospecting tools.

Strong proficiency with Outlook, Excel, Teams, and other Microsoft Office tools for reporting, communication, and coordination.

Technical aptitude with the ability to learn new programs quickly and adapt to evolving sales tools.

Strong verbal and written communication skills; confident and persuasive when engaging customers by phone and email.

Ability to craft engaging, personalized email communications for assigned and target accounts.

Natural ability to think on your feet in conversations and answer unexpected questions with ease.

Proven ability to identify customer needs, build rapport, and assess opportunity quality effectively.

Understanding of B2B sales development processes and the electrical supply chain.

Basic understanding of sales funnels, lead qualification frameworks, and CRM best practices.

Travel
Minimal travel required. 90% of the time will be spent in an office environment working out of the Kirkland, WA office and at a home office.

Pay Scale
The Salary Range for this position starts at $72,000 annually + bonus potential. At EFI, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location. Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy, and individual base pay will be determined by job‑related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
